David “Rusty” Woods, MC, LPC
Executive Director
Rusty earned his bachelor’s degree in social work from Arizona State University in 1987 and Master’s in Counseling from the University of Phoenix in 1995. He completed his internship at Christian Family Care and was employed there as a counselor for several years. He worked for Arizona State agencies providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services and worked for 10+ years in Arizona’s Child Welfare system. He also provided treatment for high-risk youth and families dealing with issues from child abuse, trauma, grief and loss, parent-child relationship, couple relationship, and divorce reaction. He specializes in working with children, teens, and families. Rusty has owned and operated Anodyne since 2007.
Ashli Dow
Associate Director
Ashli earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona in 2009, and post-baccalaureate certificates in Secondary Education and Cross-Categorical Special Education from Rio Salado College. Ashli was a Special Education Coordinator for eight years in multiple school settings including a self-contained private school for students with autism, an all-girls charter high school for at-risk teen girls, and an accelerated college-prep charter school. She has experience working with children with a variety of disabilities, backgrounds, and history of trauma. Ashli has committed her career to improving the lives of children and adults with disabilities through education and life skills development. Ashli joined Anodyne in 2018.
Misty Mcauley
Administrative Coordinator
HCBS Program Manager
Misty began her career in the medical field working closely with patients as a nurse while fulfilling many other duties as a Front Office Administrator. Over the years she worked with individuals with special needs as a direct care provider, as a manager at an agency working with adults with Down Syndrome, and at a day program focused on deaf and hearing-impaired individuals. In 2015 Misty moved to Arizona to work for Anodyne. Misty has made it her goal to serve others any way she can.
Crista Stigsell
Human Resources Manager
Crista Stigsell is a native Phoenician who thoroughly enjoys learning, coaching and teaching. Crista is a proud wife and mother who loves traveling, camping and spending time with loved ones. She has held various leadership roles throughout her career from the medical field to human service field, working hands-on with individuals and coaching them to help them meet their maximum potential. Crista joined Anodyne in 2022 as the Human Resources Manager.
Shalia Sloan
Scheduling Coordinator
Shalia moved to Arizona in April 2020 for the beautiful sunsets and her love for being outdoors. She has worked in scheduling for over a decade and is passionate about helping employees and her teammates succeed in the process. She enjoys spending time with her family, baking new recipes, and discovering new local restaurants. Shalia joined Anodyne in 2022.
Genevieve “Jeannie” Benavidez
Developmental Home Program Manager
Jeannie was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. She has worked as a Licensing Specialist for Adult Developmental & Child Developmental homes since 2006. Jeannie is passionate about helping others and working directly with people. She enjoys sports, traveling, and spending time with family.
Maricela Reed
Developmental Home Licensing Specialist
Maricela was born and raised in Mexico. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in political science from Arizona State University. Maricela’s professional experience varies from working at the Arizona State Senate as the Senate Resource Archivist, private investigator, working years in the foster care and adoption field, adult education field, professional development trainer, and joined the Anodyne family in 2022 as a licensing specialist for developmental homes. Maricela has one daughter and five grandchildren, all grown up. She also has five dogs and two cats. Maricela enjoys sitting out in her front yard, swimming, and thinking.
Jacob Woods
Residential Program Manager
Jacob was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. He has worked with individuals with special needs for over a decade. He began working for Anodyne as a caregiver in 2013 and was a Supervisor at the Frier Home for six years. He became Residential Program Manager in 2023. Jacob is passionate about his job and community.
Cindy Lara
Residential Evening Coordinator
Cindy Lara was born and raised in Casa Grande. Cindy has always been a caregiver, from caring for her family members, raising her sister’s kids and grandkids, to working as a direct care provider for Anodyne. Cindy came to Phoenix in 2019 to help the Bryce Home move from Casa Grande and had only intended on staying for two weeks to help the members adjust to their new home. She ended up moving to Phoenix and has been with Anodyne ever since! Cindy was a supervisor at the Bryce Home for three years and is now the Evening Coordinator for Anodyne’s residential program. Every day is different, but it’s an adventure.
